Description
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council - Corporate Procurement Services
The Black Country Growth Deal, 'Made in the Black Country, Sold around the World' agreed with Government is worth over £138 million and will generate an additional £310 million in public and private investment totalling £450 million. The Deal has confirmed Government investment of £35 million in 2015-16.
The Growth Deal has been divided into 13 projects across 5 programme areas. One of these projects will be a Growing Priority Sectors Regional Growth Fund ("The Fund") which will act as a three year £6 million Access to Finance project to strengthen the capacity of Black Country businesses to take advantage of new market opportunities. This will provide Access to Finance via capital investment in plant, machinery & property.
The project will provide grants to businesses with growth projects that cannot find adequate finance. Businesses in the Black Country's key sectors will be prioritised. Grants will range from £100,000 to £1 million and will be available for capital investment in plant, machinery and property. The beneficiaries of the Fund will receive up to a maximum 30% support towards the total project cost.
The Fund is administered on behalf of The Black Country LEP ("the LEP"), a Local Enterprise Partnership. Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council will act as the accountable body for the Fund.
The total estimated value excluding VAT for the entire duration of the Term Contract will be in the range of 50,000 GBP to 200,000 GBP
The anticipated number of Due Diligence Reviews required will range between 10 and 40.
This value is based on historical spend data and is intended to be used as a guide only and is not a guarantee of the level of business that will be generated from the Term Contract.
