Description
FMG were appointed as managing agents of the Highways England National Vehicle Recovery (HEVR) contract effective from 1st April 2020.
The HEVR contract manages the safe removal of accident damaged, broken down and abandoned vehicles from England's motorways and all-purpose-trunk-roads, 24/7/365. The associated activities will include the removal of vehicles, passengers and loads, storage and disposal of such vehicles and property alongside the collection of the statutory fees. The contract covers both responsive statutory vehicle removal and the pro-active, ad hoc, "pre-positioning/standby" of vehicle recovery resource, as well as offering the potential for providing vehicle recovery services during scheme road works.
FMG have in place a network of Vehicle Recovery Operators to supply the services, however to demonstrate continuous improvement and comply with contractual obligations this opportunity is to ascertain if any other suppliers are interested in becoming a sub-contractor to FMG for the HEVR contract.
Existing Vehicle Recovery Operators working on the Highways England contract need not re-apply.
For Vehicle Recovery Operators not currently on the scheme, it is an opportunity to demonstrate and evidence your capabilities and performance for the areas you propose to cover.

This assessment will ensure that FMG can meet our contract obligations with Highways England. During this assessment phase, FMG may require presentation by applicants and or visits / audits to validate suitability and proposals.
FMG will make the final decision regarding the appointment of a Vehicle Recovery Operator, any enquiries made directly to Highways England in relation to this matter will be passed back to FMG.
FMG will not be under any obligation to enter into correspondence with an applicant, or to provide an applicant with reasons for their successful or unsuccessful appointment.
