Description
HCA is seeking to appoint a contractor for the safe construction of 2 (two) Bat Barn buildings, 1 (one) Bat House and the conversion of an existing substation into a bat building, including provision of underground hibernaculums for bat barns. Work will include earthworks, excavation for foundations and foundation construction (including identification of and removal of abandoned services prior to excavation), construction of external cavity walls and internal walls, roof construction, including access provision, and internal and external finishes. The works will include minor disturbance of asbestos containing materials that will require suitably qualified contractors as set out in the documentation. Contractors must have in place Public and Employers Liability insurance cover of £5 million each along with Professional Indemnity Insurance of £2 million to undertake the contract respectively.

The opportunity can be accessed via the HCA eTendering system. The contract will be subject to English law. Tenders and all supporting documents must be priced in GBP and all payments under the contract will be made in GBP.
Contractors must be licensed by the HSE and also be members of the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA). In addition to ARCA we also recognise ACAD (Asbestos Control & Abatement Division).
This procurement and award is subject to the transparency arrangements being adopted by the UK Government. These arrangements include the publication of tender documentation issued by the HCA and the contract between the HCA and supplier. Bidders should highlight any areas they consider commercially sensitive in order for the HCA to be able to honour our transparency obligations without undermining the bidders commercial interests.
