Newham Council will be establishing England's first Standing Citizens' Assembly this year as part of its commitment to increase the role of residents in decision making; embed principles of participatory democracy and put 'People Power' at the heart of local democracy in Newham.

Newham Council is inviting applications from an external deliberative democracy organisation to design, co-ordinate, facilitate the Standing Citizens' Assembly and provide advice for its sustainability.
