Description

The Town Lodge premises are former local authority office accommodation, presently unoccupied. These premises are required to allow temporary re-location of the staff from the District Council Offices elsewhere in Gernon Road whilst that building is being refurbished.
The project also includes works to 1st & 2nd floors, Letchworth Museum, The Broadway, also local authority office accommodation, presently unoccupied.
The works comprise the re-arrangement of the Town Lodge building ground floor front spaces to form accommodation for the Customer Service Centre for the Council and general cleaning, minor re-decoration, minor electrical and heating adaptations to the remainder of the building.
The building is required to be available for occupation by the client by 8th February 2016 or earlier if possible.
The procurement will be under an agreement using the JCT Minor Works with Contractors Design Contract 2011 edition.
The Contractor is encouraged to provide a design that keeps costs to the Council as low as is practicable and to re-use materials wherever possible. The existing spaces are to be brought up to a standard suitable for use as serviced offices.
