Description

In response to the city of Hull experiencing a cycling renaissance there exists an opportunity to transform Hull into a cycling city and to encourage more people to choose an active form of travel. To that end this tender is to procure the provision and delivery of three community Cycle Hubs service. The service will include the following requirements at each of the three locations: 1. Provide a full day presence twice a week at each of the locations (which are to be provided by the Supplier) in the summer months and monthly in the winter (Summer is defined as March to September inclusive and winter is defined as October to February inclusive). 2. Provide a bike library of 30 bikes (including provision of cycle helmets) at each of the 3 locations 3. Provide free Dr bike basic cycle repairs and checks on a monthly basis 4. Deliver a programme of community short courses on basic cycle maintenance (3 hours). A minimum of 15 courses to be delivered across all three sites 5. Deliver a programme of guided rides for a range of abilities, fortnightly during the summer and monthly during the winter. 6. To facilitate Bikeability training (to be delivered by First Steps Sport through an existing contract with HCC) 7. Linking to local youth clubs to develop a 4-6 week programme for young people 8. Training volunteers from each of the local community cycle hub areas to City and Guilds level 1 standard 9. Two Cycle event days in each community during the year.
