Description

BFI is seeking a Waste Services provider for four of its sites and has split this requirement in to 2 lots:

Lot 1: BFI London Sites
BFI Southbank is our main public building which is open 15 hours per day, 7 days a week, 361 days per year.
The building has a wide range of facilities to the public including: 4 Film theatres, Library, BFI Shop, Two restaurants and bars, Mediatheque, Function rooms, Educational spaces.

BFI Stephen Street is a 6 floor office block near Tottenham Court Road, W1. The majority of the building is taken up with office accommodation but the ground floor does house a bar and restaurant which the BFI manage the waste disposal for.

Major waste streams are dry mixed recyclables, residual, glass and food with a 7 days a week collection required for BFI Southbank.

Lot 2: BFI Archive Sites
The BFI National Archive is situated on the outskirts of Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire and houses the BFI Conservation Centre and a number of storage vaults for Film, Video and other film related material. Together with BFI Gaydon the BFI holds the World's richest and most significant collection of the film and television.

Established in 1935, the BFI National Archive holds one of the largest film and television collections anywhere. Dating from the earliest days of film to the 21st century, it contains nearly a million titles. Using the latest preservation methods, we care for a variety of often obsolete formats so that future generations can enjoy their film heritage

BFI Gaydon is located in a remote location in the county of Warwickshire and houses the BFI Master Film Store. The Master Film Store opened in 2012 to replace a number of other storage facilities on site allowing the BFI to upgrade the environmental conditions for our Nitrate and Acetate film stocks with material being held in -5oC conditions to slow down decomposition.

Major waste streams are dry mixed recyclables, residual, metal and WEEE.
