Description

The reason for the cloud assessment is to enable CWPT ITC is to gain an understanding of the application landscape. This will enable us to model what workloads are best suited to migrate to cloud services. This will then enable us to evaluate what workloads will need to be factored into the onsite datacentre investment, and what will require further scoping for cloud adoption.
Specifically, we need the following from the assessment:

• Full understanding of what applications could be moved into Public Cloud
• Full understanding of how both Public and Private Clouds can be leveraged for Business Continuity (Backup and Disaster Recovery)
• The potential architectures that can be utilised and associated costs
• Change to hybrid exchange with some services on office 365
• Recommendation based on Technical and Commercial understanding

The above will enable us to understand both the benefits and costs of operating its application estate from Azure / AWS / On-Premise / Service Provider Data Centre and effectively make an educated judgment on what to implement and the strategy moving forward.

Scope of Assessment
The supplier will need to deliver the assessment across the following assets:
Review the data centre compute/storage/networking infrastructure
The applications estate, Approximately 25 Applications

The supplier who is carrying out the assessment needs to have scoped the following to be delivered as part of this assessment:

• Complete a service assessment to capture the key service metrics for all applications
• Connectivity assessment to ensure that the Wide Area Networking (WAN) estate is suitable to adopt Public Cloud services
• Audit and assessment of the current infrastructure estate, to obtain a defined and detailed analysis of each server workload
• Office 365 assessment
• What is a candidate to be cloud hosted
• Target architecture compiled using a combination of design principles established during the analysis
• Business Case, to include a roadmap on migrating service that can be migrated to the cloud, which need to stay local and which can as well as a roadmap for the DR/Backup
