Description

The primary objective of the project is to provide modern, sustainable laboratory facilities to enable the expansion of King's innovative Chemistry programmes, as part of KCL's overall strategy to expand STEM teaching and research.
To deliver this, the following were identified as key user requirements:
• Full laboratory refurbishment of the proposed 5th floor scope areas
• Full soft strip of existing teaching spaces
• New services infrastructure to support the space
• Installation of new fume cupboards, and ductwork extract to roof level
• Building work in connection with services installation, including forming penetrations through existing roof slab
• Provision of new IT and AV systems to support teaching function within the laboratories.
• Provision of new fixed furniture including laboratory standard benching and shelving units
• New floor and ceiling finishes and redecoration throughout
