Description
Wilberforce Primary School is the second largest primary school in Queen's Park, it is anticipated that development of a multi-use games area (MUGA) at the school will have significant benefits for the wider community as well as pupils at the school. A Multi Use Games Area is an outdoor area with built-in goal post units for various types of sports games, such as football, basketball, or tennis. MUGAs are surrounded by fencing that helps keep the ball in play inside the area. MUGAs are often installed in schools as it allows multi sports to be played on one pitch. During school hours, the MUGA will be exclusively for use of pupils at Wilberforce Primary School; outside of school hours, the MUGA will be open to bookings from members of the wider community. The use of the site will only be permitted to those who have booked in advance; it will not be a turn-up-and-play site such as a park. The new astro turf floodlit all-weather Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) in the carpark of Wilberforce Primary School along Herries Street. The facility will have a 4G carpet astro turf all-weather pitch with sports lighting and perimeter fencing. The pitch would be situated within the school carpark and runs from East to West.
