Description

The British Embassy in Bogota is seeking to procure the Provision of service to develop a pilot project in
Valle del Cauca to promote employment opportunities for women and young people in the construction
sector.

OBJECTIVE: Develop a training and labour inclusion model for women and young people in the construction sector through a pilot
project in Valle del Cauca, which allows the process to be documented and standardised, by creating tools that can
be replicated in other regions and with other actors in the construction value chain.
The pilot project focuses on four dimensions: i) engaging companies; ii) promoting a more inclusive organisational
culture; iii) training final beneficiaries; and (iv) documenting the experience.
SCOPE: Understand the current state of companies with regards to gender equality and social inclusion,
as well as their internal needs and challenges in order to advance in the goal of being more
inclusive. Provide technical assistance and training to companies to help transform their culture into a more
inclusive one, Train women and young people to develop the skills most demanded by the sector, Identify employment opportunities for women and young people in the pilot companies and
promote interest amongst these populations to be part of the construction and infrastructure
sector, Document the experience, evaluate pilot results, and adjust the model in accordance with lessons
learned during the pilot.
