Description

Actian will provide a dedicated hosting environment for HSE's secure web site. This encompasses
management of hardware, operating system, Actian X Database and OpenROAD Application Server. This
service is based around the Operational Service model which provides support for the Actian product set
within an environment that is normally housed by the customer. The Enterprise Management Appliance
(EMA) service extends this by providing hardware and operating system support for an environment housed
by hosting partner Rackspace.
Actian will also allow access by a number of HSE representatives to perform the following tasks for
maintaining the web site, which is out of the scope of this managed service:
• Issuing new chemical certifications;
• Release Management Procedure;
• Ad-hoc access for DBA activity will be provided via SSH and Secure FTP. (Since Actian has
responsibility for DBA activities such as backup and recovery, this will be limited to HSE having queryonly access to the database for investigative purposes and will be closely controlled by Actian).
Components of the standard EMA Service relevant to HSE include:
• Support of the underlying hardware;
• Provision of an antivirus service powered by Sophos;
• Implementation of new security patches as new threats emerge;
• Implementation of web server security practices following current best practice;
• Changes to server details such as usernames and passwords;

• Changes to access rules via the firewall;
• Continuous monitoring of the EMA Service and implementing any known corrective measures;
• Providing advice and where agreed, implementing new versions, patches, service packs or other
configuration changes for Actian X, OpenROAD Server and IIS.
The environment is accessed via a Cisco ASA-X 5508 Unlimited Firewall and is the following dedicated
Windows Web Server:
• Server Platform: Single Processor Multi-Core Dedicated Server - Dell PowerEdge R720;
• Processor: Intel Xeon E5-2643, 10M Cache, 3.30 GHz, Quad Core QTY 1;
• Memory: 32GB Memory;
• Drive & RAID Configuration: RAID1 - 2 x 600GB 15K SAS 3.5-inch Drives;
• Redundant Power: Yes;
• Network: 100 Mbps;
• Bandwidth: 1000 GB per account;
• Managed Backup: Unmetered Backups; Weekly Full, Daily Differential;
• OS Version / Licence: Windows Server 2012 R2;
• Database Version / Licence: Actian X 11.2;
• Application Server Version / Licence: OpenROAD Server 11.2.
The hardware and operating system will be provided by Actian's hosting partner Rackspace ("Rackspace")
whom Actian will manage on behalf of HSE. Rackspace are compliant with ISO/IEC 27001.
Actian Services will proactively monitor HSE's live Actian X environment and associated applications using
the EMA.
