Description

Luton DART, which was launched in March 2023, and is a fast transit system that will link London Luton Airport with Luton Airport Parkway station and is capable of moving passengers to/from airport in four minutes. The project included the creation of a terminal station building and platforms, a multi-storey car park, with drop off and pick up areas, a public transport interchange, and provision for retail and commercial space.
Clearly the aim of DART is to ameliorate passenger interchange between the station and airport terminal previously served by bus, which will not only benefit airport passengers, but improve access and social inclusion, serve airport businesses and their staff, and contribute to long-term economic growth and employment.
Another key aim of the project was to support seamless journeys e.g. St Pancras, to London Luton Airport in 32 minutes, develop other rail markets e.g., in the East Midlands and achieve mode share targets by rail to reduce carbon emissions.

Luton DART is seeking to improve the existing website and its digital ticketing capabilities, so it is better positioned to develop the market, increase mode share to rail and reduce carbon emissions.
