Considerable knowledge and experience has been built up using these systems on CLARA over the last couple of years on site from the RF and Controls teams. This new system is additional to those already installed as part of the CLARA machine. For compatibility reasons the need to buy the same bespoke system as those already installed, this would represent best value as no additional training or staff inefficiency costs associated with working on dissimilar systems would be incurred. Additionally all the existing software and installation needs are known and can be applied and a minimum of expense to set up.
