Description

CLOSED BRANCH LINES MINOR WORKS - LAR/82 - CONCRETE REPAIRS

Repair the defects identified in the attached Detailed Examination Report dated 23.09.20:
ARCH RINGS (Concrete)
- North arch ring. Widespread areas of deep spalling and perished concrete approx, 2.6m x 500mm x 175mm deep max. Remove any remaining loose concrete to arch rings and restore section loss. Photo No.17.
- North arch ring. Longstanding spalling defects to the crown/haunch area. Loose and perished concrete removed during the examination; remove and remaining loose concrete and restore section loss. Typical defects photos No.17 to 24.
- South arch ring. Isolated areas of spalling and perished concrete approx, 1.0m x 500mm x 65mm deep max. Remove any remaining loose concrete to south arch ring and restore section loss. Typical defects photos No.25 & 26.
SPANDRELS (Concrete)
- Northwest spandrel. Remove any remaining loose concrete and restore section loss to isolated area of deep spalling and void approx, 1.2m x 450mm x 150mm deep exposes sections of
rotted internal timber framework to be carefully removed. Typical defects photos No. 31 to 33.
- Isolated patches of facial spalling to the southwest spandrel approx, 1.0m2 x 60mm deep. Water ingress through the defect wet and water stained. Photo No. 36.
WING WALLS (Concrete)
- Northeast wing wall. Remove any remaining loose concrete and restore section loss to newel and cap approx, 1.0m2 x 105mm deep max. Photo No. 42.
- Northwest wing wall. Remove any remaining loose concrete and restore section loss to newel and cap approx, 1.0m2 x 75mm deep max. Photo No. 44.
- Southeast wing wall. Remove any remaining loose concrete and restore section loss to newel and cap approx, 1.0m2 x 110mm deep max. Photo 45.
- Southwest wing wall. Remove any remaining loose concrete and restore section loss to newel and cap approx, 0.5m2 x 40mm deep max. Photo No. 47.
APPROACH FENCING
- Southwest approach fence. Previously hidden with vegetation in a poor condition. Replace damaged timber post and rail fence. Photo No.62.
Clear site and remove all waste.
Concrete repair mortar to be reasonable colour match to existing concrete.
