The laser engraving machines will be required to:
• engrave a range of medals and awards made from a variety of metals including but not limited to Sterling Silver, Cupro Nickel and Rhodium plated Cupro Nickel;
• engrave centrally around the rim of circular and oval medals with thicknesses that range between 3mm and 6mm;
• engrave both flat and concave surfaces in both straight lines and circles without damaging the surfaces of the medals:
• engrave between 25 and 30 circular and oval medals per hour and work for approx. 8 hours per day (upto 6 days a week);
• engrave details provided on a USB stick as a delimited text file and or a xml file (.csv would not be acceptable as the "comma" would be included in the engraving details.
Full details of the requirement can be found in the Statement of Requirement which is contained in the Invitation To Tender (ITT) Document which is available under the supporting documents on Defence Contracts Online (DCO) (see www.contracts.mod.uk) and can be accessed using - Access Code 49J3E824C8.
Suppliers interested in this requirement should complete Parts 1 and 2 of the on-line Suitability Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) including the Declaration using the DCO and submit it electronically when completed by 11:00 on 25/04/2019. Suppliers should also complete their tender, as detailed in the ITT Document under supporting documents on the DCO, and should also submit it to arrive by 11:00 on 25/04/2019. The SAQ details the grounds for rejecting Requests to Participate and the minimum levels of capacity and capability that are required to perform the contract.
Selection and Award Criteria
Please note that in order for a tender to be evaluated the tenderer must first complete the Suitability Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) as detailed above and then be assessed as having no mandatory grounds for rejection and as having the financial and technical capability to meet the requirement.
The tender will be evaluated using the "Lowest Price" method, therefore the tender which is commercially compliant, technically compliant and then the lowest price will be the successful tender. In the unlikely event that there is more than one tender that is commercially compliant, technically compliant and has the same lowest price, the successful tender will be the one that has the lowest total price for the PMSP over ten years (the total cost of Items 5 to 14 in the Schedule of Requirements).
