Description

The Council requires a supplier for the provision of BLACHIR engagement partners to assist the next steps of the review, which includes disseminating and promotion of the report and support of implementation activities within African and Caribbean populations in Birmingham. The tenderer will be asked to engage with key African and Caribbean partners within Birmingham, taking forwards opportunities for action developed and recommended within the report, as well as actioning other public health work related to African and Caribbean citizens.
Tenderers are invited to apply for up to four lots:

o Lot A - African Community
o Lot B - Caribbean Community
o Lot C - Young African and Caribbean Males
o Lot D - Young African and Caribbean Females

The Council is seeking to commission service providers to support the implementation of the Birmingham and Lewisham African and Caribbean Health Inequalities Review (BLACHIR) report through:
o Promotion and dissemination of the review within the communities it affects
o Contribution to the development of the implementation plan to be led by the implementation team and the project board, which is a subgroup of the Creating a City without Inequalities Forum (a subcommittee of the health and wellbeing board)
o Membership/attendance at the implementation project board meetings and influencing of internal and external stakeholders from the communities' perspective as the project progresses
o Engagement with the review implementation team, the project board and the health and wellbeing board itself to support them to embed the outcomes from the review and its recommendations in local systems, strategies and plans through regular feedback from the communities and community-informed discussions
o Using the communities' lived experiences and expertise, support the relevant organisations and sectors identified by the review in the development of their policies, training and practice that respond to the opportunities for action from the review
o Develop case studies of community work that is being carried out within African and Caribbean communities in response to the review and ongoing collation of evidence of impact that the review is having on the communities
o Contribution to the independent evaluation of the review in the financial year 2023/24

This contract will be for a period of up to 22-months commencing approximately on the 1st July 2022
