Description

Lancaster University is looking for a suitably qualified Consultant to act as a Principle Designer in the Universities Spine Duct Improvement Programme.
The Spine Service Duct at Lancaster University was originally constructed in the mid 1960's and contains multiple services to facilitate interconnecting buildings. The Duct is approximately 1 kilometer long, and is sub divided into two equal halves, North & South. The Duct is also a designated confined space. The duct also interlocks to 18 sub ducts, each sub duct form a service entry into the associated buildings.
The Project is for a Consultant Organisation to review and update the various risk assessments, drawings, installation, records and the current design of the Duct. The appointed Organisation will be required to survey the duct and plant rooms and will be required to have at least one member of their team who is confined space trained.
