Description
To replace 9 streetlights, converting the provision to solar energy.
The streetlights are in two locations within Poynton
• Warren Lea/Towers Road (five steel and one cast - 6 units)
• Dale House Fold/Green Lane/Middlewood Road (one steel and two cast - 3 units)
Tender submission date: 16th September 2024. Tender submission process: Contact the Clerk on 01625 872238 or email haf.barlow@poyntontowncouncil.gov.uk to request a tender envelope. Each tendering firm will be supplied with a specifically marked envelope in which the tender is to be sealed clearly marked for the attention for The Clerk, Poynton Town Council, The Civic Hall, off Park Lane, Poynton, SK12 1RB; The tender must be returned no later than 12 noon on 16/09/24.
The contract will be awarded by the beginning of October.
Areas to be addressed within the tender document. To include:
• All necessary labour, plant and materials to complete the described works
• Site clearance (waste to be disposed of in line with WEEE regulations)
• Supply and installation of Columns: 5 m galvanised steel column with planted root (GFRP) Lantern: Solar AED 20W (min) (white)
• Electrical Works- LV Mains disconnection (include Appointment Transfers).
• Traffic Management, where appropriate
• Making good all disturbed surfaces with similar tarmacadam material
• Warranties: minimum of 12 months from installation. Warranties on all LED luminaires, photocells, drivers, ballast and lanterns will form part of the tender evaluation and must be included with the quote. Provide details of your own manufacture guarantees and warranties on the streetlight and installation work
• Method Statement in line with CQMS or equivalent
• Health and safety documentation. Public liability ( £5million) and Employers Liability Insurance (£10 million) A copy of the insurance certificates must also be submitted with your quote
• Staff employed on this contract must be accredited with G39 Category 1 qualifications
• Your company must be NICIEC accredited or equivalent. Evidence of such accreditation must be included with your quote)
• A copy of your company's health and safety policy must be submitted
• A reference from one other local council where lights of this type have been installed in the last 3 years
• The contractor must provide an address where the same lights have been fitted in a residential area, which can be viewed by the Town Council
• As part of the tender process the Contractor must complete the Town Council's Suitably Assessment Questionnaire

The contract will be awarded to the company that complies with all the written requirements, has satisfactory references and offers the best value for money. Guarantees/Warranties and aftersales service will also be assessed. We may request further information from tenderers after submission of tenders. A project co-ordinator must be nominated by the successful tenderer, to deal with any queries or problems
