Description

The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM) is an Acute Trust, providing a wide range of hospital services such as Accident and Emergency, Surgical, Medical Specialities, Therapy Services, Maternity and Paediatric Care.

UHNM has two sites, Royal Stoke University Hospital (RSUH) located in Stoke-on-Trent and the County Hospital (CH) located in Stafford.

Each year we care for over 900,000 people who come to us for emergency treatment, planned operations and medical care. We are a teaching hospital in partnership with Keele University; we have a patient-centred clinical research facility providing state of the art facilities.

The Point of Care Testing (POCT) Department is a subsidiary of Pathology services at UHNM. The Department oversees 20 blood gas analysers based across both UHNM sites two sites with an approximate activity of approximately 213,500 patient samples being processed per annum.

The objective of the project is to award a cost effective contract for blood gas samplers (to include syringes and capillaries).
