Description

The project involves entering into a design and build contract to undertake the refurbishment and alteration of an existing retail/workshop unit situated in the centre of Derby. The building is to be converted to provide a mix of open plan offices, meeting spaces, café/social space and a gallery/retail area, along with all necessary ancillary accommodation such as plant rooms, service risers, toilet accommodation, kitchens etc.
The building is adjacent to, and shares a courtyard with, the University-owned Banks' Mill. The Mill is occupied by a number of art, craft and design start-ups, and it envisaged that these businesses will utilise the retail and gallery space created within the building. It should be noted that the site is fairly constrained and that adjacent businesses, including Banks' Mill and the Universities Halls of Residence, will be operational during the course of the works. Safe access and egress will have to be maintained to adjacent properties for the duration of the works.

The works are located at the former Bramdales fireplace showroom/workshop:
67 Bridge Street
Derby
DE1 3LB

Program of work
There is a requirement to have the building works completed by no later than Monday 21st September 2015. The Contractor will be required to confirm that they are able to meet these dates as part of their tender submission, and to submit a detailed programme prior to commencing works.
