Description

Solihull Council, Income & Awards operate a Discretionary Crisis Scheme for residents that experience crisis events: an unforeseen emergency or exceptional financial hardship. This scheme is designed to provide basic provisions to enable residents to live safe and independent lives in the community. An integral part of this scheme is to support residents to move into settled accommodation following an unsettled way of life or ensure they have basic provisions to manage their care and support needs.
All customers will be assessed as being in financial hardship and not having the resources to acquire the goods themselves. Further, customers will present with a range of vulnerabilities (physical, mental and learning disabilities) that make it difficult for them to manage their crisis events independently.

To supply beneficiaries of the discretionary grant scheme with white goods so they can occupy secure accommodation following an unsettled way of life or exceptional pressures.

The requirements are as follows:

o To supply, deliver and install white goods (gas or electric cookers, washing machines, fridges etc) to beneficiaries of the discretionary grant scheme

o There is a customer care service (help desk) to enable council staff to contact the provider between the hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. This service should enable council staff to raise queries about orders, fulfilment times, invoices, complaints or technical difficulties. Given the emergency needs of our customers, we require a responsive help desk that can resolve a query on the same day.

o To inspect, service or collect white goods that are identified as faulty and replace where required.
