Description

Quotation for Mechanical and Electrical Design Services for Wednesbury Health Centre

The Council is looking to appoint a consultant to provide Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Design Services in accordance with the ACE Schedule of Services - Part G(b) Mechanical and electrical engineering (detailed design in buildings) Single Consultant or non-lead Consultant For use with ACE Agreement 1 - Design for New Health Centre in King Street, Wednesbury, West Midlands.

The New Facility is being constructed for the NHS Trust and will replace the Spires GP Practice based in Victoria Street, Wednesbury and the Mesty Croft Clinic in Alma Street, Wednesbury

The proposed accommodation would provide as a minimum the following:

o Combined GP/ Health Centre Reception Area with Admin Desk and Large Waiting Area Which includes a Children's Play Zone
o Public WC's, Baby Feed and Changing Facilities
o Interview and Large Meeting Room
o GP Surgery comprising of
o Practice Managers Office.
o 6 Consulting Rooms
o 2 Treatment Rooms
o Dirty and Clean Utility Rooms
o Records Store

o Health Centre comprising of
o 2 District Nurses Room
o 2 Podiatry Rooms
o 1 Treatment Rooms
o Dirty and Clean Utility Rooms

o Shared Accommodation including
o Large Admin Office
o Staff Facilities including Kitchenette Area,
o Staff lockers, changing, shower and wc's
o Refuse stores
o General storage, and
o Plant and service equipment rooms

o External spaces comprising,
o Secure Informal seating/rest areas/Play Area
o Main Car parking,
o Secure Staff Parking,
o Delivery vehicle access and parking,
o Visitor drop off points, and
o Bicycle storage.

o Estimated cost of the construction works is ?2.5M. Estimated cost of this requirement is ?40,000.

The consultant will become part of the Council's in-house multi-disciplinary design team and will provide all services in conjunction with this team. The in-house team will be using BIM and the appointed consultant, where possible, will be expected to contribute to this throughout their commission.

Provisional Project Programme:

Appointment: 08 May 2018
RIBA stage 2: 04 December 2017 to 30 April 2018.
RIBA stage 3: 01 May 2018 to 11 June 2018.
RIBA stage 4: 12 June 2017 to 31 December 2018.
Construction stage: 01 January 2019 to 30 December 2019.
Defects liability period: 12 months from the date of practical completion.
