Description

Procure a delivery partner to oversee the design and installation of a private wireless network for Trafford council CCTV operation. Build a backhaul system across key high points with high spec capability and future proofing GBites and bandwidth to a level not that exceeds our current system. Immediately be able to link the Town hall cameras and add new locations at low cost, give us the ability to react quickly when needed and utilise the wireless network for opportunities and solutions through the internet.

Operate a CCTV network which realises the council from our current providers with expensive licencing agreements. Fibre is both restrictive and by its arrangements can't be moved as it is underground leaving us reliant on a third party. B

The cameras in use currently are performing at their potential functionality so footage can be poor quality, current arrangement with the licenced provider mean there is insufficient bandwidth and overloaded node sites. If Trafford owned their wireless site it will increase our network we can increase productivity and capture much high quality footage, increase the number of cameras, to reduce all types of crime giving residents a greater sense of feeling safe.

Future proofing a backhaul structure which can be scaled up at low cost and ease. To build resilience into the network in the event an external failure. To bring CCTV and the Internet up to modern and future capabilities, fit for a modern Council.
