Description

The UEA Sportspark is situated on the campus of the University of East Anglia, which is part of the Norwich Research Park, it has become one of the most successful community sports facilities in the UK. Opening in 2000. Its construction being primarily funded by the Lottery and Sports England. It is self-funding and hosts 1.4 million visitors a year, who use the Olympic sized Swimming Pool, its fitness centre, 10m high climbing wall, 5 squash courts and 5 halls and a Gymnastics Centre. External of the building there is an eight-lane athletics track, two full-size sand-dressed Astro turf pitches, six tarmacadam Tennis Courts, three 7 a side 3G pitches, and four 5 a side 3G pitches.
In recent years, the facility has had re-investment allowing it to extend and be refurbished where applicable to meet with customer's needs. They operate at a high level and currently hold a customer satisfaction NPS score of 54 and a QUEST assessment rating of 'Excellent'.
As part of its lifecycle replacement, sustainability, and customer experience objectives, Sportspark has given consideration to an extensive upgrade of its facility outdoor lighting provision. The current system of metal halide lighting does not provide the energy efficiencies required, nor the lighting standards or business continuity demanded at such a busy facility.
The UEA is therefore planning for an upgrade of all external sports facility lighting to deliver LED lighting across those areas.
