Description
The University is required to carry out servicing and testing of fire safety systems in all buildings under their control. The University is looking to appoint a suitably qualified competent contractor to carry out the servicing and testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting, disabled refuge points and kitchen fire suppression systems to ensure the systems are operational and make any recommendations for repairs; depending on the scope of the repairs, these may be subject to a separate quotation/tender exercise.
The main Preston Campus of the University Estate consists of circa 50 buildings and is approximately 150,000m². Note: This contract is not limited to Preston Campus.
The main contract will be inclusive of the quarterly planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and identified remedial repair works of all identified equipment; in addition to PPM the contract will incorporate additional works requirements, including reactive maintenance, installations and one-off project works up to a maximum value of £50k nett.
Previous annual contract spend for these disciplines (planned and reactive maintenance only) has been in the region of £125k Gross, we anticipate this may rise due to our planned extensive campus remodelling (see http://www.uclan.ac.uk/about_us/uclan_masterplan.php for more details).
Note: This figure relates to servicing and reactive works only, and given as a guide only; due to the nature of this work we cannot guarantee future spend. 'Small' and 'Minor' Works projects will be in addition to the estimated amount stated.
