Description

The DfE is inviting submissions from Bidders interested in taking part in a procurement competition for the Scheme, at Pembroke Park Primary School in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

The procurement process to be adopted for this Scheme is Local Procurement via Contracts Finder with appointment via a JCT ICD 2016 contract.

Description of the Works
Whilst the Wiltshire SEND Free School project is being completed, Reach South Academy Trust require temporary accommodation to support a SEND pupil cohort. This is to be provided via refurbishment of an existing primary school site.
The requirement is to refurbish three classrooms, a staff room/dining area, a single office, storage areas and WC facilities that would provide suitable space to accommodate an intake of 25 pupils in September 2023.

Internally, all windows to be fitted with restrictors.
Classroom 4 will be used as a combined staff room/pupil dining room, windows to be fitted with restrictors and privacy frosting.
Sliding partition between Classroom 1 and Classroom 2 to be removed and the void infilled with a brick wall and painted to match existing wall.
Boys and Girls WCs to have the strip light repaired/replaced and Girls WC to have vinyl flooring repaired/replaced to match existing.
Corridor access control push button and fire alarm call point to be fitted with secure covers.
Externally, 1.2m perimeter fencing and 1nr gate to be removed. 2m high weldmesh to be installed with 4nr new gates. Tarmac to be re-levelled by the gate to the "alleyway" section down the side of the building.

New steel staircase for access to MUGA area. New paving slabs to link this staircase into the existing path. Landscaping to be regraded and reseeded with path made good.
Wetpour rubber surface with SBR granulated recycled rubber binder, polyurethane shockpad and EPDM non-slip wearing layer to area below the hard paving area. This will entail partial removal of trim trail and bark chippings, with new timber edging to new edge.

The Contractor is to carry out an Asbestos Refurbishment & Demolition survey to the relevant areas undergoing refurbishment in order to ascertain the presence of any asbestos not contained within the existing asbestos management and reinspection
reports.
