Description

The prospective scheme at Cottam Parkway Station, is for a new two platform station with footbridge & VLB lifts on the Preston - Blackpool line (PBN) between 2m 77ch and 3m and 33ch. Platform lengths suitable for 8 car operation. The scope of works include two platforms, one station building circa 200m^2, one footbridge (700 series, open) with one lifts and stairs per platform, the lifts will be a Serapid VLB lift used as an evacuation lift, OLE modifications, East and west car park banks, track renewal and new track drainage, the current station design includes booking office, booking hall, community space, parking for 300 cars, cycle storage and possible bus interchange.

The funder is Lancashire County Council who are funding the scheme via the Transforming Cities programme.

The ES4 Approval in Principle design is complete and planning permission has been granted based on previous ES3 design, however material change is needed based on the current ES4 design.

Octavius' ES5-8 estimate, informed through this market tender exercise, is to give Network Rail and Lancashire County Council confidence in cost & programme before submitting a final business case, seeking final investment authority & subsequent contract award.
