Description
Objectives of the Study
We are seeking proposals to support us to review our community regeneration and community empowerment strategies to maximise impact in the community. The Community Regeneration Review Project Group (CRRPG), a mix of residents and staff will provide a sounding board and forum for discussion and review of the strategies, and will also advise and make recommendations on the community study. The primary objectives of the community study are to use the community gateway principle of putting residents at the heart of decision making. It is important that the study throughout its process not only consults residents but that it;
- explores new and innovative ways of engaging and involving
residents who may not have engaged with Phoenix before.
- empowers residents to get involved at all levels in shaping and
informing the strategy via the study.
- seeks to achieve equality and diversity so that everyone has the
opportunity to be involved in contributing to the study.
- identifies key partners (internal/external) who need to engage
with the community regeneration team to deliver its improved offer
to residents.
- supports us in reviewing our community regeneration and community
empowerment strategies to maximise impact in the community.
The outcomes of the study are:
- To identify how the community regeneration team can improve and/or
innovate its work
- To identify and prioritise what economic and social activities and
provision residents would like to see delivered by the community
regeneration team
- To identify and prioritise what community issues residents want
addressed
- To identify how and when resident's want community activities,
services, and provisions delivered i.e. weekends, evenings,
childcare provision, geographical areas etc
- To identify how residents want to be engaged and involved in
shaping and informing Phoenix services i.e. are meetings the only
way? Are there new innovative ways?
- To identify barriers to involvement and engagement with Phoenix
and recommend strategies for succession/legacy planning.
- To review the Phoenix Festival by consulting with residents at the
festival on July 22nd 2018 i.e. what impact does the festival have
on our residents? what value does it bring to their lives and the
local community?
- To explore in the long term how the work of the community
regeneration team can be sustainable. Is a charitable arm/trust
viable?
