Description
Staffordshire University is leading the development of the Staffordshire Advanced Materials Incubation and Accelerator Centre (SAMIAC). The aim of SAMIAC is to stimulate innovation, product development and growth in advanced materials in the Staffordshire region. A key element of SAMIAC is the development of a research, prototyping and innovation laboratory workspace for which we are seeking to purchase a Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) System. The LIBS system is required to provide a versatile analytical technique offering significant advantages in speed, sensitivity and cost effectiveness over other processes such as XRF, SEM, and mass spectrometry. The LIBS system will be used by staff and companies to measure accurate data of their material research targeting applications including archaeology, forensics, engineering and ceramics.
