Description
Future Minds is one of the University of Bristol's enhancement projects and is our vehicle for ensuring our UG and PGT training offers access to cutting edge technologies and teaching that better prepares future psychologists for the research needs of an environment where our everyday behaviour increasingly interacts with digital systems and our daily experience is augmented by technology. This project will enable us to embed mobile digital research tools in our curriculum and provide students with hands-on training with those technologies to better prepare them for an XR (extended reality) future within the metaverse.
As part of the Future Minds project there is a requirement for equipment to capture gaze data from both screen and a head sets which can be moved from location to location for teaching, research, and outreach:
1) 2 x Mobile eye trackers, screen mounted.
2) 2 x Mobile eye trackers, head mounted.
Both systems teach and enable projects on the fundamentals of attention and perception and how people navigate a dynamic world. Both systems need to be research-grade eye tracking, which enables practical experience for students undertaking labs with point-of-view recording from eye trackers which enable tracking in virtually any environment.
