Description

We are looking for an organisation(s) that are experienced in delivering clubs and leisure activities to groups of children and young people with a range of complex disabilities between the ages of 8-18 years old. We require dedicated school holiday activities in both North and South of Central Bedfordshire for children who have been assessed as needing care and support by the Children with Disabilities social work teams. We welcome applications from provider(s) who can demonstrate they can work in partnership with the Local Authority and our area special schools and who understand the cohort, approach and meet the outcomes outlined in this specification.
These Leisure Activities provide disabled children and young people with an opportunity to spend time away from their parents or carers, having fun with their friends, experiencing a range of activities, challenges and environments that are designed to meet their needs. In addition, they provide parent carers with a necessary and valuable break from their caring responsibilities.
The focus of this funding programme is to support the delivery of dedicated school holiday provision to children and young people with the highest level of need with the aim of building positive, challenging, engaging and developmental experiences for the children and young people open to the Children with Disabilities Service.
