Description
Design and specification of replacement for EDT Obsolete Intercompartmental Pumps & new Trickle
Pump, generally in accordance with Sellafield Ltd. Specification No. SP/B315/PROJ/00084.
Including:
• Procurement of Zenit DRX 75/2/G32V A0CT5 Submersible Pump.
Modification of COTS Zenit DRX 75 to create two prototype variants:
1) Standard Duty Intercompartmental Transfer Pump:
• Nominal duties required for 'Standard' Intercompartmental Pump: flowrate of 21m3/hr at a discharge head of 1.3m. Note a performance deviation of +/-10% is acceptable.
• Pump must fit within 186mm Diameter Guide Tube (SL Drawing 0NF 232747).
• Power supply to be 415V / 3 phase / 50 Hz.
2) Standard Duty Intercompartmental Transfer Pump:
• Nominal duties required for the Trickle Flow Pump: Flow rate: 1-5m3/hr at a discharge head 1.3.Pump must fit within 186mm Diameter Guide Tube (SL Drawing 0NF 232747).
• Power supply to be 415V / 3 phase / 50 Hz - suitable for VSD control. Liaison with Sellafield Electrical design team to confirm any electrical modifications required.
• Pump impellor to be trimmed if necessary to achieve reduction in flowrate.
Note: the Vendor is permitted to use a single prototype pump unit for variants tests if required, with the further permanent modifications needed to achieve the trickle pump duty point undertaken only after successful testing and acceptance of the standard duty prototype.
The Vendor must provide the following in regard to both prototypes:
• Initial design (suitable for proof of pump concept purposes) of Rubber Skirt / Seals for Top and Bottom of selected Pump, to ensure correct sealing within the guide tube.
• Procurement / manufacture of Rubber Skirt / Seals as required.
• Modification of COTS pump, to include for fitment of new Seals and installation 'Top Plate' and the provision of cabling to suit test requirements.
• Manufacture / assembly of suitable Pump Test Rig incorporating the details of the existing site 'Guide Tube' from previous testing.
The Testing / Trialling activities for the pump prototypes must include:
o Records of flowrates / pressures as required to fully define the performance of the prototype units
o Records of the electrical Power Drawn from the Motor for both prototype units.
o Checking for any noticeable leaks from the Pump Seals within the Guide Tube (where
feasible) 100 stop starts with flow recording, in line with manufacturer guide lines for stop starts per hour.
o Control / monitoring of Pump Speed (for Trickle Flow Pump) via vendor supplied variable speed drive unit.
Vendor must provide the following documentation:
o Report from Trials showing test configuration, test results and summary of findings for both prototypes.
o Initial Drawings detailing modification work required to enable the Zenit Pump and associated Rubber Seals to fit within the Guide Tube.
