Description

2580/487/CW/NW/20 Heat Treatment Furnace

The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a Heat Treatment Furnace on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre Northwest, Heatley House, Bowran Street, Preston, PR1 2UX.

Scope of Requirement

The furnace will be used for the heat treatment of components in a range of alloys - produced via additive manufacturing. The control system must, therefore, allow control of temperature with respect to time with a number of distinct phases. The heat treatment furnace shall be free standing, such that building works are not required. Any associated floor securing requirements should be identified with all associated utility and service requirements. The machine should be easy to use, accessible and have good visual set out controls for users readable in English format. It should provide good ergonomic operating space for users, which is both comfortable and safe.
