Description

3497/AMRC/GM/22 Coil Spreader

The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a coil spreader on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, IMG Group at Catcliffe, South Yorkshire.

Scope of Requirement
The AMRC has a requirement for a coil spreading device to manufacture precision preformed coils for high-performance electrical machines for use in prototyping and development work. Whilst capability exists in industry to produce such pre-formed coils upwards of around 0.5 m to several metres long, the current requirements demand the same control over geometry on coils from tens to several hundred millimetres in length.
The proposed equipment will be used on a variety of collaborative and commercial research and development projects through prototyping and process development. As such, your proposal should be highly flexible and upgradeable over time, e.g. through additional hardware and sensors.
