Description

Fujitsu is seeking a suitably qualified SME to undertake fibre and copper installation works as part of the Airfield/Airside Implementation programme at Heathrow.

The appointed contractor will be responsible for the provision, installation, testing, and commissioning of fibre and copper infrastructure, delivered in accordance with relevant industry standards and Heathrow site-specific requirements.

The successful SME will demonstrate capabilities across the following areas:
• Installation of fibre optic and copper cabling infrastructure, including containment systems.
• Termination, splicing, and testing of fibre and copper cables to required specifications.
• Commissioning of installed infrastructure to support operational readiness.
• Compliance with Heathrow safety, security, and airside access protocols.
• Provision of installation documentation, test results, and handover packs.

It will be necessary for the successful SME to have the following industry accreditations:
• CSCS/ECS Certification for all site operatives.
• NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works Act) accreditation where applicable.
• Manufacturer certifications for fibre and copper systems (e.g., Excel, Commscope, Panduit).
• ISO 9001 Quality Management certification.
• ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety certification.
• SMSTS - For Managers
• SSSTS - For Supervisors
• Asbestos awareness - All
• Confined space and working at height - (as applicable)

Target Supplier Profile
• SME based in or near the Heathrow area.
• Proven experience in fibre and copper installation within aviation, transport, or critical infrastructure sectors.
• Ability to provide flexible, responsive support aligned with Heathrow's operational requirements.
