Description

We are looking to appoint a build contractor who can work with us and our architects to deliver the refurbishment and refit detailed in the drawings for the existing spaces. The preferred bidder will need to be able to co-ordinate with other suppliers such as AV and furniture partners to complete overall delivery of the new space.

This is a short turn around contract where the BFI Mediatheque will close from Monday 19th December 2016 and we require the refit to be complete and approved for public opening by Thursday 30th March 2017.

The Retail project is also a short turn around contract with an expected closure period of Wednesday 1st February 2017 to Wednesday 8th February 2017.

BFI Mediatheque
The BFI Mediatheque designed by David Adjaye at Southbank in 2006 remains the existing free-to-view in-venue service that provides public access to and interpretation of National Archive collections - the world's largest and most diverse moving image collection on demand viewing environment. Its focus is to promote education about film, television and the moving image.

The focus of this refit is to revitalise the existing space to have visual impact and allow anyone to feel confident to be curious, enter, linger and engage with the collections. The ambition is to have inspiring, versatile and friendly spaces to discover moving image. A fun place that will deliver a specialist service for researchers, as well as being a welcoming space for both the casual and first-time user.

BFI Film Store
The BFI Film Store was launched in 2007 and stocks film and TV-related books, DVDs and gifts to satisfy the general enthusiast, the dedicated student and the developing practitioner.

It is now time to re-invent our retail offer and with the introduction of new product ranges, our current look needs updating. A new concept has been designed with the goal of opening up the space, attracting new customers and inspiring gift purchases.
