Description

The MOD requires an enduring barcoding delivery partner to adhere to its internal policies. The Joint Defence Marking Team is looking for a supplier of blank barcodes in a variety of materials (examples will include, metal, fabric, aluminium & synthetic) that can be printed on and distributed worldwide for self-fitment. Estimates for low and high volumes (low volumes will be in the region of <1k, larger volumes approximately >20k per task), total volumes expected <50k per year) of blank tags will be sought, including low volume "specialist" material tags. All tags will be in a range of sizes (current sizes include 23mm x 10.5mm, 12mm x 12mm, 51mm x 25.5mm, and larger sizes such as 127mm x 26mm). Additionally, options for supply, print and fit service will be sought under this RFI.

Our goal is to understand supplier capabilities and explore innovative and creative solutions to achieve cost-effective process led optimisation of our barcoding programme. We invite interested parties to participate in this soft market testing phase. Your insights will help and assist in shaping our future procurement strategy. Please share your expertise on how our requirements can be met effectively. We are encouraging EME as an opportunity for collaboration and knowledge sharing to enhance the quality of our procurement process, this will foster stronger partnerships.

This RFI seeks to obtain a range of budgetary estimates for the delivery and sustainment of this enduring capability and confirm the viability of options under consideration.

This RFI has been published for the purposes of Market Sounding - understanding the reaction of the market to the proposed requirement. No formal procurement process has been launched. This RFI is for information only and may assist in deciding the future procurement strategy and scoping of the requirement. This request is not a commitment by the UK Ministry of Defence to place an order or a Tender in the future.
