Description

We are seeking a digital agency to help us develop an innovative, accessible, interactive and informative website. This will be a review, redesign and revamp of our current website http://www.apcrc.nhs.uk/, bringing in and linking to our two toolkits, www.nhsevaluationtoolkit.net and www.nhsevidencetoolkit.net. The website also need to reflect the NHS branding guidelines and take in consideration the design and branding of our host organisation NHS Bristol CGG (https://www.bristolccg.nhs.uk/) and partner organisations South Gloucestershire CCG and North Somerset CCG, however these websites themselves are subject to change over the next two years.
This document outlines the requirements for a new website, for which we are seeking to appoint a digital agency partner to design and build the new website.

Purpose of the website is three fold:
• Promote and communicate the values, vision, strategy and functions of the APCRC in terms of: who we are, what we do, who we support and our impact (impact case studies)
• Promoting Knowledge Mobilisation as our mechanism for improving Evidence Informed Decision Making
• Act as a resource to support our target audience to access all the right up to date information and tools they need to be self sufficient

Audience
Our audience are those working in health and social care across the Sustainability and Transformation Plan footprint.
• Our primary audiences are:
o Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) Clinical Commissioning Groups and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (Our funders)
o University of Bristol and the University of the West of England, Bristol
• Our secondary audiences are:
o Providers in Acute, Community, Primary Care, Private and Voluntary sectors; Local authority, NIHR CLAHRCWest, West of England Academic Health Science Networks (AHSN), Bristol Health Partners and the associated Health Integration Teams, Patients and the Public as well as those working in knowledge mobilisation, evidence informed decision making, research and evaluation further afield at a regional and national level.
We are seeking a digital agency partner to:
a. Develop a look and feel for the website, based on NHS Branding Guidelines and APCRC branding*
b. Support the APCRC to review their current branding and logo*
c. Develop an information architecture for the site
d. Develop or identify an appropriate and easy to use content management system for the site (Note: Our current toolkits use Wordpress)
e. Train APCRC staff to enable them to use the Content Management system so that it can be updated on a regular basis
f. Ensure the site meets WAI AA accessibility guidelines, AAA where possible
g. Create templates for each layout required for the site
h. Implement a metadata schema to allow different content types to be associated with each other

Look and feel
The site must comply with the NHS Branding guidelines. We would like the site to be accessible, easy to use (intuitive) and visually appealing. The website, although serving slightly different functions, will need to have some consistency in style to the two toolkits that have already been developed.
The design will be approved by the APCRC Senior Management Team with the final design signed off by the APCRC Advisory Group.
Content management system
The content management system must be web-based. Ideally, the CMS will be open source. If this is not possible, then it will have very low licensing costs. It needs to be easy to use to allow regular updating and reviewing.
