Description

Based: Remote (UK only) with regular meetings at the University of Cambridge
Eligibility: You must be eligible to work in the UK

Raspberry Pi and the University of Cambridge are seeking a contractor to support development of the online teaching platform IsaacComputerScience.org. The platform itself is shared with IsaacPhysics.org and is open source software (https://github.com/isaacphysics/).

The contractor will need to design, build, integrate and test a substantial new feature for the platform. Currently, the platform automatically marks and provides immediate feedback to students when answering questions. We would like to extend the platform to support diagnostics quizzes and summative assessment which require students to complete a set of questions with either limited or no immediate feedback. The solution will require modification of both backend and frontend services and must be fully integrated into the existing platform, including appropriate support for automated testing. The contractor will need significant full-stack expertise in all the relevant programming languages and libraries used by the platform including Java, Jetty, PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch as well as TypeScript, JSON and React.

The contract must be cleared to work for the University of Cambridge with previous experience of working with equipment at the Department of Computer Science and Technology.
