Description

Bikeability is a government recognised cycling training scheme which delivers cycling safety training to children, developed by the Department for Transport (DfT).

North Somerset Council has successfully secured grant funding from the DfT for the next 3 years, leading up to March 2020.

North Somerset Council are seeking for a contractor(s) to provide training for Levels 1, 2 and 3 with the addition of Bikeability Balance and Bikeability fix, as detailed within Appendix A - Specification.
The services have been split into three Lots; and a contractor can opt to bid for any individual Lot, two Lots or all 3 Lots if they wish.

- Lot 1- Bikeability level 1, level 2, integrated 1 & 2
- Lot 2- Bikeability level 3 and Bikeability Fix
- Lot 3- Bikebability Balance

Whilst it is our intention for Bikeability to run for the full three year duration that the DfT funding is available, due to the uncertain landscape of public sector finance it has been decided that this contract will be let for one year, with two, one year extension options (1+1+1) to allow us flexibility should the current situation change

Whilst this service falls under 'light-touch' under the 2015 Public Procurement regulations, for the avoidance of doubt, this tendering process is being modelled on an Open Procedure.
