Description
NPL's requirement is for a battery cycler able to test and measure impedance of high energy and high power commercial Li-ion cells of different designs including cylindrical, pouch-cells and prismatic cells. The instrument will have the ability to charge and discharge batteries at low and high C-rate with an accuracy of ≤ 0.05%. The cycler will be able to deliver current from 1 A to 200 A. Moreover, the battery cycler will include 5 channels. Each channel will have the ability to support electrochemical impedance spectroscopy with a frequency resolution of ≤ 1 mHz on each channel. This level of accuracy is needed to generate data that can be used for accurate battery diagnostic.
