Description

Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew wishes to appoint a supplier to apply Stable Isotope Ratio Analysis (SIRA) and Trace Element Analysis (TEA) to sample material derived from a range of succulent plant species.

Objectives of the analysis include:

To characterise the chemical fingerprints of wild succulent plants threatened by illegal trade, and their use in determining the geographic origin and provenance of the plant.

Exploring the potential of an isotope marker applied through watering, to help trace cultivated plant specimens within commercial supply chains.
