Description

The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) requirement is for a glovebox dedicated to post-mortem battery analysis. The purpose is to safely dismantle aged Li-ion batteries and prepare samples for further analysis in a moisture and oxygen free environment.

The setup needs to be able to work in presence of metallic lithium. Therefore, Argon must be used to fill the glovebox rather than Nitrogen to preserve the integrity of the harvested samples
