Description
The Service Provider will be required to provide information advice and guidance to families of children and young people who have been diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum. The service shall be delivered across Westmorland & Furness.
The service aims to:
i. Work in partnership with other relevant agencies, to share information, advice and support, to benefit children, young people and their families, in order to maximise the impact of resources and avoid duplication.
ii. Enable and empower all families (including siblings and carers) who have children and young people on the Autistic Spectrum to achieve improved outcomes for their child/ren, through the provision of information, advice and guidance (see APPENDIX Autism spectrum disorder in under 19s: recognition, referral and diagnosis (CG128) )
iii. Provide training opportunities and specific workshops for families (including siblings and carers) of children on the autism spectrum (see APPENDIX Autism spectrum disorder in under 19s: recognition, referral and diagnosis (CG128) )
iv. Contribute to raising awareness and understanding of autism amongst other local services as appropriate, to benefit children and young people with autism and their families.
