Description
1. To provide LGBTQ+ Youth Groups for young people to meet on a regular basis. The LGBTQ+ youth groups must provide
• A safe space for young people to be themselves and explore their identity both in a virtual setting and also at face to face sessions across the borough, the offer must be varied and ensure that the sessions can be delivered in both ways, considering the wishes of the young people that attend, delivery should be led by the young people who access provision but shouldn't be restrictive young people have told us they want the opportunity to access both
• A fun social group and somewhere to make friends
• Confidentiality and anonymity
• Trained and knowledgeable staff of varied identities and ages
• The ability for young people to have their voice heard and seeing things change as a result
• Information and advice, good local knowledge of services
• A sense of belonging
• Support for the wider family a place to allow for questions to be asked and answered and to ensure appropriate links and services are known locally
• Establish links with other providers where learning, sharing and support can happen to ensure services are forward thinking and well informed
2. Deliver LGBTQ+ pastoral support to schools and/or at any other appropriate venues
3. Ensure positive working relationships are created with the councils Youth Provision and work jointly to support the LGBTQ+ community of young people
