Description
Queenborough and Rushenden is a major development site within Homes England's Economic Assets Programme and a key component of the Kent and Medway Stewardship Plan. Homes England have acquired the Klondyke site, and together with the Twyford and Mill sites represents a total of 26 hectares to be brought forward for mixed-use regeneration. In conjunction with the Caradon site to the south, these sites will provide 2,000 new homes and circa 180,000m2 of employment space on the Isle of Sheppey in North Kent.
Tenders are being sought from specialist Suppliers to undertake the following works on the former Klondyke Industrial Estate (see CampbellReith Demolition Specification for full Scope of Works on ProContract):
- Site clearance works.
- Soft strip and asbestos removal/disposal from buildings and stockpiles located around site.
- Accord with pre-commencement planning conditions.
- Vibration/dust/asbestos monitoring.
- Demolition of existing above ground structures to ground.
- Crushing/testing/certification of suitable site-won material.

All discussions, meetings and communications will be conducted in English.
The contract will be subject to English law. Tenders and all supporting documents must be priced in GBP and all payments under the contract will be made in GBP.
Contractors must be licensed by the HSE and also be members of the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA). In addition to ARCA we also recognise ACAD (Asbestos Control & Abatement Division).
This procurement and award is subject to the transparency arrangements being adopted by the UK Government. These arrangements include the publication of tender documentation issued by Homes England and the contract between Homes England and supplier. Bidders should highlight any areas they consider commercially sensitive in order for Homes England to be able to honour our transparency obligations without undermining the bidders commercial interests.
