Description

W3042 Jubilee Way Retaining Wall carries the footpath connecting the east footway of Jubilee Way with the southern end of Newgate in Pontefract. The retaining wall is constructed in brickwork and is in disrepair due to thermal expansion & contraction. The wall has cracking in the mortar joints over a length of approximately 38 metres.

The repair works to the wall comprise: -

a. Traffic safety and management on the live highway network
b. Taking down an approximate length of 38m of the brickwork wall and disposal to tips off site.
c. Rebuilding the wall in brickwork to match existing.
d. Introduction of expansion control joints in the new wall construction.
