Description
The Satellite Applications Catapult (Catapult) and partners are currently working in collaboration with ESA to create an operational neutral trusted entity (NTE) to support decision-makers across the global agricultural supply/value chain (e.g. Investors, Retailers, Traders, Manufacturers, Government, NGOs) to operationalise deforestation commitments for imported commodities. The Catapult are in the process of securing funding to deliver a two-year project to support the creation of this entity. In the project phase, our work will focus solely on supply chain deforestation assessments, but will be designed to evolve longer term functionality for risk flagging and verification in relation to the wider environmental and social footprint of Forest Risk Commodities.
