Description
Open procurement process to award a 5.5 year contract with the option to extend up to two years. The end date, and total value of the contract of £13.5m (£1.8m per annum), represents the full 7.5 years of the contract (including extension).
The aim of the service is to implement Extended Access in accordance with the NHS England mandated specification. The service is to contribute to primary care delivery within the ERY locality offering routine and pre-bookable appointments to patients 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
The expected outcomes of this service are:
a) Ensuring all patients can access same day and pre-bookable appointments in primary care 7 days a week
b) Improved patient satisfaction with access to primary care
c) Reduce inequalities in patient access to primary care
d) Creating a more sustainable primary care operating with manageable workloads and under reduced workload pressure
e) Reduced number of patients with a primary care problems seen in A&E or Urgent Care
f) A pattern of extended hours that best fits local demand and that responds flexibly to patient needs as measured through the use of new demand monitoring tools.
g) Greater individual empowerment and self care via education and information through a range of methods, including notification on practice websites, notices in local urgent care services and publicity into the community
